Local Officials Find Joy and Positivity in Business Openings

In Santa Monica, three new businesses have recently opened and were celebrated with ribbon cutting ceremonies organized by the Chamber of Commerce. First up was Oasis Restaurant on 1413 5th St., owned by Mickey Barnes and Brenda Garcia. The restaurant’s vast space was celebrated, and Oasis also received a $10,000 donation from Los Angeles Football Club and Pepsi to support black-owned businesses through the Pepsi Dig In initiative.

Two days later, Richard Cao and Hansel Cisneros were recognized for opening Bandit E-Bikes, a bicycle service and repair shop with a wide selection of e-bike inventory. Chamber members and local officials tested out the bikes at the Broadway location, with Mayor Phil Brock among those who took the bikes for a spin.

Finally, on March 28, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf opened its doors at the Medical Center of Santa Monica at 2021 Santa Monica Blvd in partnership with Providence Saint John’s Health Center. The Chamber, local officials, representatives from the national coffee chain and store owner Jason Park were present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this new addition to the community.
