Saints Sign All of Their 2021 Draft Picks, Reinforce QB Room and Bolster Defense

The Saints have secured contracts with their remaining five draft picks, including Spencer Rattler, the 150th overall pick. Rattler, who played three seasons at Oklahoma and two seasons at South Carolina, has completed 68.5 percent of his passes for 10,807 yards with 77 touchdowns and 32 interceptions while also rushing for 16 scores. With the addition of Rattler, the Saints’ quarterbacks room now includes Derek Carr and Jake Haener.

In addition to Rattler, the Saints have signed fifth-round receiver Bub Means, fifth-round linebacker Jaylan Ford, sixth-round defensive tackle Khristian Boyd, and seventh-round offensive tackle Josiah Ezirim. These signings leave only second-round cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry as the sole unsigned draft pick.

Means played four seasons at Maryland and was a two-time All-Big Ten honoree. He caught 94 receptions for 1,368 yards and eight touchdowns in his college career. Ford played three seasons at Auburn and was named a first-team All-SEC selection in his junior year. He totaled 228 tackles in his college career.

Boyd played two seasons at Mississippi State and was named a first-team All-SEC selection in his junior year. He had six sacks during that season. Ezirim played three seasons at Texas A&M and started every game he appeared in during his senior year.

With all their draft picks now under contract, the Saints are set to add depth to their roster for the upcoming season.
