Over the weekend, Rutgers football secured a major commitment from highly-touted in-state recruit John Forster. The running back, who is a class of 2025 student at St. Joseph’s in Montvale, New Jersey, is the seventh four-star recruit to commit to the Scarlet Knights in this recruiting class.
Forster had an impressive season, rushing for 311 yards and scoring five touchdowns on 50 carries. His commitment adds to Rutgers’ strong recruiting class, which has helped propel the team to a top-10 national ranking according to Rivals. In an interview with Rutgers Wire, Forster expressed his excitement about joining the Scarlet Knights and highlighted the development opportunities he saw at the university as a key factor in his decision.
Forster had taken official visits to several other prominent schools including Boston College, Duke, Penn State and Wisconsin before ultimately choosing Rutgers as his home. By choosing to stay in his home state and play for Rutgers, Forster aims to make history and contribute to the program’s future success. He is eager to contribute to the program’s success and is looking forward to being part of a special recruiting class that he believes can help Rutgers continue its upward trajectory.
