Rome Health Upgrades with $45.7 Million Project to Enhance Healthcare Services in Mohawk Valley

Rome Health, a healthcare facility in the Mohawk Valley, is working on a new project to address the growing demand for care in the region. The $45.7 million project involves constructing a 30,000-square-foot, three-floor addition to the hospital. This addition will replace the aging operating rooms and intensive care units, ensuring that patients receive care up to modern standards.

The hospital has observed an increase in the number of patients seeking services since 2019. The COO, Ryan Thompson, mentioned that all services have grown by nearly 30% during this time. The new project at Rome Health aims to address this rising need for care by modernizing facilities and creating a seamless flow from pre-procedure to post-procedure care, improving efficiency and expanding capacity for patients.

Rome Health has undertaken several major projects in the past four years with funding coming from a combination of public and private sources including a $26 million New York State Transformation Grant and $3 million in ARPA funds from the City of Rome. With nearly $44 million raised through public funding and private philanthropy, Rome Health is close to reaching its fundraising goal for the capital campaign. The hospital remains committed to providing quality care to the community while continuously improving its facilities and services.
