Richard Childress Racing Shakes up Crew for Martinsville Speedway with New Hires and Returning Faces

Richard Childress Racing switches up crew chiefs

Richard Childress Racing has announced some changes ahead of the trip to Martinsville Speedway. The changes include Austin Dillon getting a new crew chief for the remainder of the season as Justin Alexander returns to the No. 3 pit box, replacing Keith Rodden, who originally joined RCR and the No. 3 team at the start of the 2023 season. Additionally, Joel Keller has been named lead engineer of the No. 3 team.

The winningest Cup team and Martinsville Speedway have a special relationship. Rodden is set to take on a larger role across the organization to enhance the performance of the team’s cars. Alexander, who has previously served as Dillon’s crew chief, previously led the No. 3 team for part of the 2017 season and helped Dillon secure a Coca-Cola 600 win in their first race together. He also remained on the pit box in 2018 when Dillon won the Daytona 500.
