Tesem, a renowned aluminium beauty packaging company, has recently developed a new technology named BRI&Va, aimed at enhancing the shine of Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) aluminium packaging. This innovative technology is currently patent-pending and has been developed over two years.
Tesem claims that the BRI&Va technology can give high-percentage aluminium PCR a glossy finish equivalent to brand new anodized aluminium. This allows brands to maintain the luxurious appearance of shiny metal packaging while also promoting sustainability. By using this technology, brands can achieve their sustainability objectives while maintaining the aesthetic appeal of their products.
The company asserts that BRI&Va technology encourages the use of high-content PCR and helps in achieving clients’ sustainability goals. By substituting virgin aluminium with 20% PCR aluminium, Tesem claims that there can be a significant decrease of 78.9% in CO2 emissions. Currently, the technology is undergoing scaling up, with Tesem partnering closely with Chanel, who has shown interest in incorporating the BRI&Va technology into their packaging. The new technology will be demonstrated at Tesem’s booth during the LuxePack Monaco show scheduled from September 30 to October 2 this year.
