Restaurant Promotes Phone-Free Dining Experience in Verona, Italy

At Al Condominio restaurant in Verona, Italy, customers have the chance to receive a free bottle of wine simply by leaving their phones behind when they arrive. The owner, Angelo Lella, opened the restaurant with the goal of creating a unique dining experience that sets it apart from others. He believes that technology has become an addiction for many people and that it constantly distracts them from enjoying a meal with friends and family.

Upon entering the restaurant, customers can choose to leave their phones at the entrance, where they will be securely locked away. Once seated, they will show their key to the waiter and receive a complimentary bottle of wine such as Prosecco or rosé. This innovative concept has been well-received by customers, with 90% of patrons choosing to participate in the phone-free dining experience. Lella is thrilled to see customers engaging in conversations and enjoying each other’s company without distractions.

The response to this initiative at Al Condominio has been overwhelmingly positive. Customers appreciate being given the opportunity to disconnect from their phones while dining and engage in meaningful interactions with one another over a shared meal and wine. Lella hopes that this approach will inspire other restaurants to follow suit and create similar experiences for their guests.
