Audrey MacLean, a former standout athlete from Redwood High in Tiburon, recently placed fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the USA Track & Field under-20 Championships in Eugene, Ore. MacLean, who is a freshman at Middlebury College, finished the race with a time of 10 minutes and 36.95 seconds, marking her fourth consecutive race finishing in under 10:40. Her exceptional performances throughout the season led her to earn the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Rookie of the Year honors in both track and cross country.
During her time at Redwood High, MacLean was known as one of the top distance runners in the county. In her senior season in 2023, she finished second in both the 1,600 and 3,200 races. MacLean also secured the MCAL cross country title as a junior and finished second as a senior. Additionally, she claimed sixth place in the 2023 Dipsea Race.
MacLean’s success in both high school and college athletics showcases her talent and dedication to the sport of track and field. She continues to excel and make a name for herself on the competitive running circuit.
