After winning Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup race at Nashville Superspeedway, Joey Logano became the 11th driver to secure a playoff spot with a win. The race went a series-record five overtimes before he took the checkered flag, with rookie Zane Smith finishing in second place, followed by Tyler Reddick in third and Ryan Preece in fourth.
Despite dominating both stages of the race, Christopher Bell crashed in the third stage and ended up finishing in 36th place. This was an unfortunate end to his streak of five consecutive top-10 finishes. With seven races left in the season, there are now five spots for the playoffs via points. Alex Bowman currently holds the final playoff spot, while Bubba Wallace is the first driver outside of a playoff spot, trailing Bowman by 51 points. Chase Briscoe follows behind Wallace by 78 points, and Kyle Busch is 104 points behind Bowman in the playoff race.
