RATP Union Reaches Agreement on Summer Employee Compensation Amid Paris Olympics

The union leaders of the RATP (Réseau des transports d’Île-de-France) have announced that they reached an agreement with management on Wednesday evening. According to a statement from FO-RATP, the 19,000 employees who were mobilized during the summer will receive answers to their requests for compensation.

In particular, the “metro transport services” (MTS) department, including the 3,000 metro drivers, will be able to receive a bonus of up to 2,500 euros. To qualify for this amount, they must not be absent for more than four days between July 22 and September 8. If an employee is absent for more than four days, they will receive a bonus of 1,600 euros. The agreement also includes bonuses for exceptional events and other benefits such as bonuses for postponing untaken leave to 2024.

The CGT-RATP of the RER department has also released a press release detailing the results obtained by various professions within the organization. For example, switchers, drivers, operational managers, regulators, and security agents will receive bonuses provided they meet certain criteria. Negotiations for bus drivers and station agents are ongoing.

The bonuses allocated to other sectors such as police and AP-HP are already known. The bonuses for police and air traffic controllers have also been announced. The overall budget for the increased transport offer during the Games is estimated to be 250 million euros with additional revenue expected from Olympic passes sold to visitors. Free transport was initially promised when Paris applied to host the Games in 2017 but was later withdrawn due to budget constraints.
