Meanwhile, in Hayward, Wisconsin, a unique community demonstrated its ability to move floating bogs. Last month, a 2-acre bog with 30-foot Tamarack trees blocked waterways on Lake Chippewa Flowage near Hayward. A group of “bog pushers” utilized their boats to move the bog and clear the waterways for boaters. One of the pushers explains the process involved in moving these floating structures with precision.
The African American Leadership Alliance Milwaukee is resurrecting President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper program. The goal is to create more opportunities for young men of color and improve their futures. The leader of this effort discusses what it will take to ensure that the program is successful in achieving its objectives.
