Peterborough Manager Darren Ferguson: Staying Focused in the Race for League One Promotion

After securing a spot in the League One play-offs, Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson expressed his discomfort. Despite their 4-1 victory over Fleetwood Town, Peterborough is still three points behind Bolton Wanderers and six adrift of Derby County. However, Ferguson is hopeful that they can make up the gap with a game in hand on both teams.

Ferguson acknowledged that the team’s start to the game was less than ideal, with Peterborough conceding an early goal and goalkeeper Jed Steer needing to make two penalty saves to keep the team in the game. Despite this shaky start, Peterborough eventually found their stride and scored four goals to secure the win.

Looking ahead, Ferguson emphasized the importance of focusing on each game and securing results, especially as the season reaches its most critical stages. He highlighted the need for his team to stay focused on doing the basics right and not getting complacent, even in games where they hold a significant lead. With their next game against Bristol Rovers, Ferguson is keen to see how far his team can go and is hopeful for a strong finish to the season.
