On Wednesday, May 1, the Arkansas Tech University Department of History and Political Science held their spring 2024 awards ceremony in the Witherspoon Hall Atrium. The event recognized and honored several individuals for their academic achievements.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the Thomas A. DeBlack Award to Jeffrey C. Weaver by Dr. Kelly Jones, associate professor of history. This award recognized Weaver’s outstanding contributions to the field of history.
In addition to individual awards, various scholarships were also presented during the ceremony. The Fay Bullock Scholarship was awarded to Sabrina Asous and Madelyn Kate Belin, while the T.A. Dulaney Memorial Scholarship went to Jennifer Adams, Haley Greer, Maycie Hardy, Savanah Leigh, Reese Nietart, Gabrielle M. Stockand, Emily A. Stolp, and Ansley Washam. The Lawrence M. Evans Memorial Scholarship was presented to Carly Mitchell, Mason Moore, Maysie Morgan, and Aileen Rivera, while the Nathan and Virginia Gordon Scholarship was awarded to Roxaneh Aliabadi, Riley Dunman, Bailee Elam, Kelsey Jones
