Home Republicans are holding our economy hostage and preparing to slash billions of dollars from veterans’ solutions and advantages in return for keeping the complete faith and credit of the United States.
Republicans are delivering a a single-two punch to veterans.
Initially, their debt legislation would slash $30 billion dollars from veterans’ solutions, eradicate housing vouchers for 50,000 homeless veterans, and reduce 81,000 jobs from the Veterans Well being Administration.
They can say what ever they want but this is what they voted for.
Second, the Republicans just released a bill to gut the wellness care funding we promised to toxic-exposed veterans in the Pact Act.
How about alternatively of cuts to veterans’ solutions and advantages, we decrease our deficit by ending tax loopholes for the ultrawealthy and by guaranteeing the biggest corporations spend their fair share.
Home Democrats are united in opposition to Republicans’ veterans funding cuts, and we will not go back on the progress we’ve produced.
So as we all head into this Memorial Day weekend, we will have to do improved.
We will have to not default on our debts. And let’s preserve our promises to our veterans.
