Erin Dunston, Ohio State football recruiting staffer, departs program

Ohio State is facing a setback with the departure of assistant athletic director for football recruiting and events, Erin Dunston. Dunston has left the program to join Michigan as the director of operations, which marks the second coach or staff member to leave Ohio State for Michigan this offseason, following running backs coach Tony Alford’s move in March.

Prior to her time at Ohio State, Dunston held recruiting roles at Kansas and Purdue, as well as a graduate assistant position with LSU’s operations staff. With only two more weekends remaining for official visits before a dead period takes effect, the Buckeyes will need to adjust their recruiting strategy in Dunston’s absence. Despite the staffing changes, Ohio State has managed to secure commitments from top recruits for their 2025 class, including four-star safety Faheem Delane and four-star running back Bo Jackson. With 14 commits already in place, the Buckeyes currently have the nation’s top-ranked recruiting class for 2025, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. For more coverage of Ohio State football, fans can tune into podcasts or follow reporter Joey Kaufman at The Columbus Dispatch for the latest updates on the team. The departure of Erin Dunston will undoubtedly have an impact on Ohio State’s recruiting efforts, but the program remains focused on building a strong future for the team.
