In recent news, 30-year-old Curtis Edwards has signed with Notts County after declining a new deal with Woking, a National League team. Edwards spent the last three months of the previous season with Woking, making 17 league appearances. This marked his return to English football after playing in Scandinavia for nine years.
Edwards began his career in Middlesbrough’s youth teams before moving to Sweden in 2015. There, he played for Ostersund under English manager Graham Potter and later for Djurgarden. He then moved on to Norway, where he featured for Stabaek. Richard Montague, a Notts board member responsible for recruitment, praised Edwards as a strong performer who demonstrated his quality both in Scandinavia and during his time at Woking.
Montague highlighted Edwards’ versatility in midfield and described him as a fantastic technician who is hardworking and mobile on the pitch. The addition of Edwards to Notts County’s squad will provide more depth and flexibility in midfield, allowing him to contribute in various roles on the field.
Notts County is thrilled to have signed such an experienced and talented midfielder like Edwards. They believe that his addition will significantly strengthen their squad and help them achieve their goals this season.
