Specifically, a total of $659,308,541 was bet on various sports events during this time period. The report from the N.C. State Lottery Commission covers the period from March 11 through March 31 and includes both promotional and paid revenue.
As a result of their wagers, North Carolinians won a total of $590,750,303 in this time frame. In March alone, the gross wagering revenue amounted to $66,496,213. It’s important to note that under state law, an 18% tax is imposed on the gross wagering revenue generated by sports wagering activity.
