Newcastle United has officially signed 19-year-old left-back Lewis Hall from Chelsea for a fee of £28m. Hall, who was named Chelsea’s Academy Player of the Year in 2023, had a successful season with the Magpies after joining them on loan last August. During the 2023-24 season, he made 22 appearances and scored twice.
Hall expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “I am extremely proud to be able to build on last season and continue my journey at Newcastle United. When you pull on the black and white shirt, there is no feeling like it and playing in front of the best supporters in the country is extra special for me, being a Toon fan.” He emphasized his eagerness to contribute to the team’s success and push for further improvements in the upcoming season.
Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe praised Hall’s talent and attitude towards the game, expressing his excitement for the young player’s future in a Newcastle United shirt. Hall began his career at Chelsea and made his first-team debut in a FA Cup victory against Chesterfield in January 2022.
