Nelly Korda has announced that she will not be competing in the upcoming LET event due to a dog bite that she suffered in Seattle. She expressed regret over having to withdraw from the tournament in London to receive treatment and fully recover from the incident. Korda apologized to the LET, sponsors, and her fans for her absence and thanked them for their understanding.
Korda is not the only player to have suffered a dog-bite injury this season, as Alison Lee experienced a similar incident in January that required hospitalization and affected her ability to compete in certain events. Last year, Korda won the individual portion of the Aramco-sponsored event in England, establishing herself as a force in women’s golf.
The LPGA will be on hiatus next week before returning for the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 11-14, the fourth major of the season. Korda, who won the Chevron Championship earlier this year, will be looking to bounce back from her recent missed cuts and regain her momentum on the course. Despite missing out on some valuable tournament experience, Korda remains determined to return stronger than ever and continue making strides towards her goals as one of women’s golf’s top players.
