Nelly Korda, the world No 1 golfer, withdrew from the Aramco-sponsored Ladies European Tour event in London next week due to a dog bite. She announced her withdrawal on Instagram and apologized for missing the Centurion Club in Hemel Hempstead from July 3-5. Korda had won six times in seven starts earlier in the season but has missed the cut in her last three events, including a score of 10 on the par-3 12th hole at the US Women’s Open.
Despite this rough patch, Korda is looking forward to returning to form in upcoming major tournaments and representing the United States at the Paris Olympics this summer. Her next scheduled tournament is the Amundi Evian Championship in France from July 11-14. Korda’s absence is a setback for her fans and competitors alike as she was expected to be a major contender at the event.
