Napa Valley Wine Auction Celebrates 40 Years of Giving Back and Focuses on Mental Health for Students

Since its inception in 1981, the annual wine auction in Napa Valley, California has been a significant event that raises funds for local nonprofits. The event, started by a group of winemakers and vendors who wanted to give back to the community, has grown in popularity over the years with other vintners and vendors eager to participate. According to Donna Walker, Chairman of Napa Valley Vintners, the event’s success is due to the community’s devotion to its special place.

The Napa Valley community comes together each year to host the event, with local winemakers, chefs, and volunteers contributing to its success. The event celebrates giving back while participants enjoy excellent food, wine, and camaraderie. Participants can participate in person or online and raise over $230 million for local nonprofits over the past 40 years.

One of the current focuses of the auction is on student mental health within the community. Jennifer Stewart from Napa Valley Education and SHINE Napa Valley highlighted the need for mental health services for students in the area. The goal is to ensure that every student who needs mental health services can access them safely and for free through their school site.

Cyril Chappellet, CEO/Chairman of Chappellet, emphasized the importance of making a positive impact on the community through this event. He expressed his gratitude to donors who embrace this mission of helping others grow.
