On Tuesday afternoon, a man was discovered dead between a business wall and a shipping container on the 200 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark. The police responded to the scene at 3:55 p.m., where officers and firefighters were able to move the container and extract the man from his location. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene just an hour later, according to a statement from Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé.
Fragé clarified that there was no suspicion of foul play involved in the man’s death, but limited information was available as the investigation was still ongoing.
