Museum of Science and Industry will be closed on Wednesday for relocation of military artifacts

On Wednesday, the Museum of Science and Industry closed its doors to move military artifacts from archival storage. Initially, the closure was described as “unplanned maintenance,” but it was necessary to ensure proper and safe removal of the artifacts. Specially trained military personnel and local officials were present on-site to oversee the process.

Due to scheduling conflicts and the availability of officials, the relocation of the artifacts was done on short notice. However, museum spokesperson Kelsey Ryan stated that they were taking precautions and prioritizing safety during the move. Despite not providing details about the specific type or number of artifacts being relocated, or where they were being moved to, Ryan assured that the museum would reopen on Thursday for regular hours.

Anyone who had purchased tickets in advance for Wednesday can receive a refund or rebook their tickets by calling 773-684-1414. The museum apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and relocation of the artifacts.
