Mondo Breaks World Record at Diamond League Meet in China: A Testament to Unbreakable Talent and Skill

Armand Duplantis proved his talent and skill once again by breaking his own world record in the pole vault at the Diamond League meet in China. The 24-year-old athlete from Sweden, also known as Mondo, cleared 6.24 meters, surpassing the record of 6.23 he had set just last September at the Diamond League meet in Oregon.

Duplantis mentioned at a pre-meet news conference that he never puts limits on himself and is always capable of a record-breaking performance. Entering the competition at 5.62 meters, he went on to clear 5.82 and 6 meters before successfully attempting the record and clearing it on his first try. Following his impressive feat, Sam Kendricks finished second at 5.82 and Huang Bokai finished third at 5.72. This marked the eighth time Duplantis has set a world record in his pole vaulting career.

The event also showcased other notable performances, including Christian Coleman winning the 100 meters in 10.13 seconds, with Fred Kerley finishing second in 10.17. In the women’s events, Gudaf Tsegay set the third-fastest time in history in the women’s 1,500-meters with a time of 3 minutes and 50.30 seconds. The women’s 200 meters saw an upset as Australian Torrie Lewis defeated world champion Sha’Carri Richardson in a close finish, with Lewis winning in 22.96 seconds.

Overall, the Diamond League meet in China showcased impressive performances by some of the world’s top athletes, providing an exciting start to the outdoor season for fans and athletes alike
