As the winter season approaches, ski enthusiasts across Missouri are eagerly awaiting the start of ski season. Several ski resorts, including Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Wildwood, have been preparing for the upcoming season.
Tony Santora, the general manager of Hidden Valley Ski Resort, has been working tirelessly to get the resort ready for the winter season. He spent the summer completing necessary inspections and making sure that everything is in place for a successful season. Santora explained that they make all the snow that skiers use and that it takes about four days of continuous snowmaking for them to make enough snow to open.
The snowmaking process at Hidden Valley relies on a wet bulb temperature to determine when they can make snow. As they prepare to open for the season, staff is being brought on board and beginners can take advantage of lessons offered at the resort.
Ski resorts like Hidden Valley offer a variety of activities during winter season such as skiing, snow tubing, snowboarding and lessons for beginners. It’s an exciting time for ski enthusiasts across Missouri as they gear up for this popular winter activity.
