The Minnesota Twins have recently announced that infield prospect Brooks Lee will be joining their major league team for his debut. The news came on Wednesday, after Royce Lewis landed on the injured list due to left groin tightness. Lee, who was the eighth overall pick in the 2022 draft, missed the beginning of the season due to a back injury but has been making up for lost time since his return. In his 20 games at the Triple-A level, he has been impressive with a .329/.394/.635 batting line, including seven home runs and excellent plate discipline.
Lee’s experience at various infield positions makes him a versatile player, and he is expected to settle in at third or second base in the long run. CBS Sports recently named him as the top prospect most likely to debut in the majors, following another prospect’s promotion. Despite a crowded roster, Lee’s talent makes him a strong contender for a spot on the Twins’ big-league lineup. The team, currently six games behind in the American League Central with a 48-37 record, is set to continue their series against the Detroit Tigers with Lee in their ranks.
