Minnesota Breweries Shine at 2024 World Beer Cup in Las Vegas with Seven Medals, Including Two Golds

The 2024 World Beer Cup in Las Vegas saw six Minnesota breweries take home medals, including two gold, two silver, and two bronze. The competition, hosted by the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, is the largest and most prestigious beer event in the world, attracting over 9,000 entries from 2,000 breweries competing in 110 categories.

Among the winners was Bent Paddle Brewing Co. from Duluth, which took home a gold medal for their German-Style Altbier “Little Dussel Do-Ya”. Northbound Smokehouse & Brewpub from Minneapolis also won a gold medal for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Dopplebock”, while Excelsior Brewing Co. from Excelsior received a silver medal for their Fruit Beer “Big Island Citrus Blonde Ale”.

Lupulin Brewing from Big Lake won a silver medal for their Dortmunder/Export of German-Style Oktoberfest “Dortmunder”, while BeerClub Brewing from Mora received a bronze medal for their German-Style Doppelbock or Fisbock “Doppel (doppel) Bock (bock),” and Pryes Brewing Co. from Minneapolis won a bronze medal for their Mixed Culture Brett Beer “Idyll Forest – Soirée”.

Bob Galligan, the director of government and industry relations for the Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild, expressed pride in the state’s brewers for showcasing their world-class beer at the competition.
