Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced the addition of former OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and former OpenAI president Greg Brockman to the company’s ranks. This news comes after Altman was ousted from OpenAI, and there was some confusion when the company’s board appeared to consider reversing the decision before settling on former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear as the interim CEO.
Nadella expressed excitement about the new team joining Microsoft and is committed to providing both Altman and Brockman with the resources they need for success. Despite the move to Microsoft, the company remains committed to its partnership with OpenAI. Meanwhile, Mira Murati, who was previously OpenAI’s CTO, has been replaced by Shear.
In a post on X, Brockman stated that he, Altman, and others planned to “build something new” and “incredible” at Microsoft. Microsoft did not provide immediate comment or details about the new team joining the company.
