Earlier this month, Roman Wilson, a former Michigan wide receiver, predicted that former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh would choose multiple Wolverines in the NFL Draft. So far, one Michigan player has been drafted. The Chargers selected linebacker Junior Colson in the third round with the 69th overall pick.
Colson had an impressive track record at Michigan, playing in 43 games over the last three seasons and contributing to a defense that led the team to three consecutive playoff appearances. With 95 tackles and two tackles for loss, Colson was a pivotal player in Michigan’s national title win last season.
As of now, four Michigan players have been drafted and more are expected to hear their names called before the draft concludes on Saturday. Eighteen members of the Michigan team, including Roman Wilson, participated in the Scouting Combine, indicating that there could be further Wolverine selections in the upcoming rounds. It seems that Wilson’s prediction of multiple Wolverines being drafted is well on its way to becoming a reality.
