Metso has received an order from Freeport-McMoRan for the delivery of a tankhouse material handling solution to their El Paso electrorefinery in Texas, US. The order is worth over €10 million and will be booked in the Minerals segment’s 4Q23 orders received.
As part of the scope of delivery, Metso will provide Outotec Anode Preparation and Cathode Stripping Machines, both based on proven designs that prioritize safety and long-term reliability. These machines will utilize modern robotic electrode handling to optimize layout and material handling efficiency in the existing refinery.
