In a recent interview with YouTuber Kallaway, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shared his thoughts on AI technology. While AI is expected to become a common part of our daily lives, Zuckerberg suggested that the focus should not be on building one central AI but rather on creating multiple programs.
Many major companies are working on developing a main AI, such as Google’s Gemini or OpenAI’s Chat GPT, but Meta’s approach is different – they aim to build different AIs that reflect people’s diverse interests and needs.
Meta is concentrating on building the underlying technology, known as Llama, to empower businesses and creators to develop their own AIs tailored to the requirements of their communities. Zuckerberg emphasized that the concept of an all-knowing AI does not appeal to him and does not align with Meta’s vision. While some tech leaders support the idea of a single true AI, Zuckerberg believes that AI technology should not be hoarded and that creating one ultimate AI is not the right approach.
Currently, Meta is in the process of testing a beta version of its Creator AI, which enables creators like Kallaway to experiment with the software and experience the benefits of a streamlined AI designed for their specific audiences. In April 2024, Meta released Llama 3, which is part of their ongoing effort to support businesses and creators in developing customized AI solutions.
