Melinda French Gates is excited to embrace her new lifestyle as a divorcée and is content with the changes in her life. She recently purchased a cottage in Seattle, which she found through research on Redfin, and has been enjoying walking to local spots in her neighborhood. Although she did not mention the exact location of her current residence, French Gates moved to the North Broadway neighborhood of Seattle where she can easily walk to stores, restaurants and drugstores in the area.
This is a stark contrast to her previous home, Xanadu 2.0, located in the Medina suburb of Seattle, which was worth over $183 million and was much larger in size. French Gates is happier with the simplicity of her new home and neighborhood, contrary to the opulence of her former residence. In May, French Gates stepped down from her cochair position at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to focus on the next phase of her philanthropic work. Her resignation became effective on June 7, marking a new beginning for her in her charitable endeavors.
