WSFA 12 News is thrilled to welcome its newest sports reporter, Davis Baker, to the team. Baker comes from a strong background in sports journalism and has been an asset wherever he has worked.
Prior to joining WSFA, Baker served as the sports director for KTEN in Denison, Texas for two years. In this role, he was the weeknight sports anchor and covered local and regional sports news in north Texas and southeast Oklahoma. He also produced and hosted feature shows and football previews.
Baker is originally from Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a major in journalism. Before his time at KTEN, he interned at WRBL in Columbus, Georgia and wrote for “Bulldawg Illustrated” in Athens, Georgia, focusing on UGA sports. His passion for SEC sports shines through in his work, and he is eager to highlight high school, college, and professional athletes in Alabama.
WSFA’s Sports Director Rosie Langello expressed her excitement about Baker joining the team. She noted that his reputation as a hard worker with a positive attitude made him a standout candidate. Langello believes that Baker will be a valuable asset to the team especially with his experience as a former sports director. She is looking forward to seeing Baker’s involvement in the community and his dedication to covering sports teams in the area.
