Green Ammonia Plant in India: KBR Secures 10th Globally Licensed Project
KBR, a leading provider of advanced engineering and technology solutions, has announced that its green ammonia technology, known as K-GreeN®, has been chosen by OCIOR Energy for their plant in the Gopalpur region of Odisha, India. This will mark the 10th globally licensed green ammonia plant by KBR and the first in India.
Under the agreement, KBR will provide OCIOR with a technology license, engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions for a green ammonia plant with a capacity of 600 tpd. KBR will also assist OCIOR in achieving the optimal levelised cost of ammonia production. Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about supporting OCIOR Energy in this significant project, stating that it will aid the region in achieving its decarbonization goals through the use of the K-GreeN solution.
OCIOR Energy’s CEO, Ranjit Gupta, explained that their green ammonia project aims to establish a benchmark for reliable green fuel production. OCIOR Energy’s strategy focuses on developing well-engineered green ammonia projects in regions abundant in renewable resources to meet the growing demand from global off-takers.
