Judge Dismisses Class Action Lawsuit Against Tower Health for Privacy Violations

In a ruling by Judge John F. Murphy of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, a proposed class action lawsuit against Tower Health, based in Pennsylvania, was dismissed after plaintiffs Patrick Santoro and Jessica Landis failed to provide sufficient evidence to support their claims.

Santoro and Landis accused Tower Health of negligently sharing their personal health information with Meta Platforms Inc., leading to allegations of intrusion upon seclusion and violations of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act. However, Judge Murphy found that the information shared was not sensitive enough to warrant legal action. Without meeting the necessary criteria to proceed with their claims, the lawsuit was ultimately dismissed by the court.

The dismissal of this lawsuit without leave to amend signifies the end of the legal action taken against Tower Health in this matter. Despite allegations of privacy violations, the court did not find sufficient evidence to support Santoro and Landis’ claims, leading to their defeat in this matter.
