Netanyahu responds to criticism of decision to enter Rafah

Netanyahu has criticized calls to not enter Rafah, arguing that those in favor of this stance are essentially advocating for losing the war and keeping Hamas in control. He did not provide details or a timetable for a ground invasion of Rafah, Gaza’s southernmost region bordering Egypt.

In response to the Prime Minister’s announcement, a number of countries in the Middle East and Europe, led by the EU leadership, warned about the disastrous consequences of Israel’s attack on Rafah. They urged Israel to reconsider its actions and avoid further escalation of the conflict.

Official data from Israel indicates that at least 1,200 people have been killed and another 6,900 injured since October 7. In Gaza, controlled by Hamas, at least 28,064 people have been killed and 67,611 injured in the same time frame. The situation remains tense as the international community closely monitors events in this region.
