Is Tropical Storm Threatening to Rain Out the T20 World Cup between India and South Africa in Barbados?

The T20 World Cup final between India and South Africa is set to take place in Bridgetown, Barbados. However, the chance of rain impacting the game remains high, with a tropical storm potentially affecting the island on match day. Despite efforts to improve the weather forecast leading up to the match, Bridgetown experienced heavy rain ahead of the final match.

The Barbados Meteorological Service issued a warning about a potential storm that could affect the playing conditions and outfield. The umpires will inspect these conditions before toss time to determine if they are suitable for play. If not, they may reduce overs or even reschedule the game for another day.

The ICC has allocated a reserve day for the final in case it cannot be completed on schedule. If necessary, both teams will have an additional opportunity to compete on this day. To be considered valid, a minimum of 10 overs per side must be completed on this day as well as on any other scheduled days.

If rain interrupts play during the scheduled day but cannot be completed, it will resume from the same point on the reserve day. This means that both teams could potentially face each other again under different conditions if weather plays a significant role in determining who wins the title.
