Instagram has recently introduced new features that give users more control over their social media experience. One of these features is the hidden words option, which allows users to filter out unwanted content in their feed, search section, and other profiles. Additionally, Instagram is working on additional features to enhance user experience, such as the ability to archive old posts.
Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, has announced new features on the platform that give users greater control over what they see. The hidden words function allows users to personalize their content by hiding specific words, phrases, and emojis. This feature extends to both the ‘Following’ and ‘For you’ feeds, as well as the Search section and responses in publications.
In addition to the hidden words function, Instagram is testing the ability to mute notifications and connections to posts, as well as giving users control over who can mention them. This upcoming feature will allow users to choose who can mention them and easily remove mentions from posts where they do not wish to appear.
Aside from these new features, users can also customize their experience by entering specific words and phrases to restrict in the settings section. The platform already filters out offensive or harmful content by default, but the new hidden words option allows for additional customization. Instagram is continuously working on improving user experience and providing more control over what appears on the platform.
