Hitachi Vantara Collaborates with NVIDIA to Advance Artificial Intelligence Innovation

NVIDIA, a leading technology company, and Hitachi Vantara, a provider of data storage, infrastructure and hybrid cloud management solutions, have announced a partnership to develop new generation AI solutions. This collaboration will result in the creation of a portfolio of products called Hitachi iQ, which aims to simplify the process of generating AI-driven results by combining industry-specific capabilities with existing AI solutions.

Data-intensive technologies like generative AI are transforming businesses at an unprecedented pace but also putting additional strain on IT environments. A recent report from S&P Global Market Intelligence revealed that only one-third of respondents believe their companies can consistently handle internal demand for AI workloads. The partnership between Hitachi Vantara and NVIDIA aims to address these challenges by introducing hybrid cloud-enabled AI capabilities to accelerate the generation of business insights.

Hitachi iQ solutions leverage NVIDIA’s latest AI technologies and Hitachi Vantara’s advanced storage platforms to meet market demands and facilitate the digital transformation of enterprises. Customers will be able to choose from a range of consumption models to ensure optimized performance and a strong return on investment. The first product in the Hitachi iQ portfolio is set to launch in the first quarter of Hitachi’s fiscal year, commencing in April 2024. This certified NVIDIA DGX BasePOD solution will include NVIDIA DGX H100 systems and NVIDIA software AI Enterprise, offering a cutting-edge AI architecture for handling complex AI workloads.

Charlie Boyle, vice president of DGX platforms at NVIDIA explained that companies across all industries are establishing AI centers for data intelligence. With Hitachi Vantara’s solutions powered by NVIDIA DGX software and infrastructure, customers will be able to establish AI centers of excellence and enhance their generative AI strategies. As part of a broader collaboration with NVIDIA, Hitachi will focus on developing industry-specific generative AI models, particularly for Operational Technology (OT), positioning itself as a leading company in providing tailored AI solutions to support businesses in their data-driven digital transformations
