In Manchester, New Hampshire, the Portland Sea Dogs clinched their fifth straight victory with a 7-3 triumph over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. One of the standout moments of the game was Roman Anthony’s inside-the-park home run in the sixth inning, which helped to take Portland’s lead to 4-0. Nick Decker also contributed with a home run in the same inning, making it a memorable game.
Tyler Miller had an RBI double in the second inning and Alex Binelas added an RBI single in the fifth to further boost Portland’s lead. Despite New Hampshire scoring once in the sixth and twice in the seventh to close the gap to one run, Portland pulled away again by scoring three runs in the top of the ninth. Elih Marrero’s two-run single and Decker’s two RBIs were instrumental for Portland’s victory.
Wikelman Gonzalez pitched three scoreless innings with one hit, three strikeouts, and one walk before Christopher Troye took over for him. Troye pitched three innings and allowed only one run on three hits while striking out five and walking two to earn his first win of the season. Felix Cepeda then closed out the game with 2 1/3 scoreless innings and his 12th save of the year.
