Hollidaysburg Boys Tennis Team Remains Unbeaten with Close Win over Altoona

The Hollidaysburg Area High School boys tennis team remained undefeated at 5-0 after a close match against Altoona, winning 3-2. Altoona, with a record of 1-4, secured a singles win from Luke Mitchell and from the doubles team of Aiden Aiken and Avery Lanzendorfer. The Golden Tigers claimed singles victories from Garrett Bouchard and Michael Waibel, as well as the doubles team of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney.

In another sports update, Central defeated Penns Valley 19-9 in six innings in high school baseball. Mason Byler earned the win in relief and struck out four. Jay Hoenstine had three hits and four RBIs, Troy McNichol contributed three hits and three RBIs, Griffin Snowberger added three hits and two RBIs, and Britton Marko chipped in with two hits and three RBIs to lead the Dragon offense.

The game saw Penns Valley score 9 runs on 7 hits, while Central scored 19 runs on 11 hits. Central showcased strong offensive performances from multiple players, including Hoenstine, McNichol, and Snowberger. This win improved Central’s record to 2-0, while Penns Valley fell to 1-3.
