The World Triathlon Championship Series and Mixed Relay Series Montreal events scheduled for 14-15 September, 2024 have been cancelled. Despite this cancellation, the World Triathlon Para Series Montreal, set for 29 June, will still proceed as planned.
In response to the cancellation of the Montreal events, the World Triathlon Cup Wehai has been upgraded to a WTCS event. This event will now serve as the fifth stop in the 2024 Series due to China Triathlon Sports Association’s hosting efforts.
The last-minute cancellation of WTCS Abu Dhabi in March means that points from four remaining Series events will be awarded: WTCS Yokohama, WTCS Cagliari, WTCS Hamburg, and WTCS Weihai. Points will also be granted at Continental Championships, Paris 2024 Olympic Games and Championship Finals Torremolinos-Andalucia. The athletes with the highest points accumulated from three of these six events plus the Championship Finals will be crowned the 2024 World Triathlon Champions.
