On Friday, during the game between the San Francisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies, catcher Patrick Bailey was forced to leave the game in the second inning due to blurry vision. The Giants are currently evaluating Bailey for the issue, which appears to have occurred after he was hit by a foul ball off the bat of Phillies’ Alec Bohm in the first inning.
Bailey had walked and scored a run in his only plate appearance before exiting due to his vision problems. In his place, veteran catcher Tom Murphy was substituted. The Giants are keeping a close eye on Bailey’s condition as they await further updates on his status.
