Germany’s Vice Chancellor Stands with Ukraine, Moldova Against Russian Aggression: Strengthening Economies and Fighting for Freedom.

German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Robert Habeck arrived in Kiev on Thursday for a visit aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s economy, providing emergency aid, and addressing Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure. He was accompanied by a business delegation. The trip coincides with the upcoming Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, which will be hosted by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Upon arrival, Habeck emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine’s “fight for freedom,” highlighting its struggle for self-determination, territorial integrity, and European values against Russian aggression. In Kiev, he is scheduled to meet with President Zelensky, Deputy Prime Minister and Economics Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and Energy Minister German Galushchenko, among others.

Following his visit to Kiev, Habeck will travel to Moldova to meet with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. Moldova, a pro-Western country aspiring to join the EU, sees itself as threatened by Moscow and shares a border with Ukraine. The trip underscores Germany’s commitment to supporting Ukraine and its neighboring countries in the face of Russian aggression and promoting stability and prosperity in the region.
