Georgia softball cruised to a 10-1 victory over Kennesaw State, with nine runs coming in the first two innings. The Bulldogs rebounded from a game where they scored only four runs and had five hits, with 11 hits and 10 runs in this contest.
Madison Kearney got things started with a two-run home run in the first inning. Sydney Chambley and Sara Mosley also hit home runs as the Bulldogs dominated the game. Despite a fielder error that allowed Kennesaw State to score in the first inning, Georgia’s pitching staff performed well. Starter Shelby Walters earned the win after pitching for two innings, allowing three hits and striking out two batters.
The Bulldogs used four pitchers in total, who only allowed four hits and three walks while striking out five batters. Georgia showcased a deep roster, with 15 different players seeing playing time compared to only eight players for Kennesaw State. After a successful away stretch, Georgia will return home to face No. 20 Arkansas in their upcoming SEC series on Saturday, March 30th at noon.
