In 2023, NFL Network faced uncertainty surrounding the status of Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin. This year, it has been confirmed that Irvin is no longer with the league, as reported by Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post and Andrew Marchand of TheAthletic.com.
Irvin’s departure from NFL Network comes after a legal dispute that transpired in 2023. An employee of a Marriott hotel filed a complaint against him, which led to Irvin being sent home from the Super Bowl. Despite taking legal action against the hotel, Irvin did not involve the league in the lawsuit at the time. It was understood that the league wanted the case to be settled before considering bringing Irvin back.
After settling the case, Irvin returned to NFLN for a short period before his contract expired and his relationship with the league came to an end. It is worth noting that Irvin also works for FS1 and has previously worked for ESPN.
