From Phoenix to NBA Champion: The Return of Damion Lee and His Role in Suns’ Title Hopes

It is reported that Damion Lee will be rejoining the Phoenix Suns

Damion Lee, the undrafted rookie who played with the Phoenix Suns in the 2022-23 season, has decided not to exercise his $2.8 million player option with the team for the upcoming 2024-25 season. However, sources close to the situation have confirmed that he will return to the team on a one-year contract.

If Lee can regain his form after sitting out last season due to a right meniscus injury, he could provide additional depth and versatility at the shooting guard position for the Suns. The team currently has 14 players under contract and known additions, leaving just one roster spot remaining.

Lee initially signed with the Suns in 2016 as an undrafted rookie and went on to play 15 games with them during their championship run in 2017. After that season, he joined the Golden State Warriors on a two-way contract before signing a multi-year deal in 2019. During his time with the Warriors from 2018-24, Lee played 201 games and averaged 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game in the regular season. He was also part of their NBA championship run in 2019 and made significant contributions during their playoff run in both years.

With his return to Phoenix, Lee aims to bring his experience and skills back to help lead the team towards success next season
