Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani, the youngest son of Indian tycoon Mukesh Ambani, are set to tie the knot on July 12 in what is being touted as one of the most luxurious weddings in the world. The extravagant pre-wedding celebrations began in March and lasted over four months, showcasing opulence at every turn.
The couple’s festivities began with a fiesta attended by 1,200 guests, including billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, Sunder Pichai, and Ivanka Trump. Rihanna was hired to perform and a light show featuring 5,500 drones dazzled attendees. Guests were encouraged to wear jungle-themed clothing as they visited an animal rescue center run by Anant, which houses abused, injured and endangered animals.
An army of Indian hairdressers, makeup artists and clothing designers were employed to help guests get ready for the celebrations. They were treated to 500 different dishes prepared by 100 chefs and an additional community feeding service was organized for 51,000 people living in villages near Jamnagar. The couple also organized a Mediterranean cruise for 1,200 people that included stops in Europe and performances by Katy Perry, Backstreet Boys and Andrea Bocelli.
