Ex-UGA wide receiver inks deal with the Browns

Toledo Rockets wide receiver Matt Landers has officially signed with the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 200 pounds, Landers showcased his remarkable athletic ability during the 2023 combine by running a 4.37 40-yard dash.

Despite his physical prowess, Landers struggled to translate that potential into on-field production throughout his college career. While at Georgia from 2017 to 2020, he saw limited playing time but managed to make an impact in the 2019 season with ten catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. However, his role diminished in his final year at Georgia, prompting him to transfer to Toledo for the following season.

In his lone year with the Rockets, Landers displayed more potential by recording 20 catches for 514 yards and five touchdowns. He then used his final year of eligibility to play for Arkansas, where he excelled, leading the Razorbacks in receiving with 47 catches for 901 yards and eight touchdowns during his best collegiate season. This exciting news was originally reported by UGA Wire, highlighting Landers’ journey from the college gridiron to the professional ranks in the NFL.
