This week, we covered a range of topics, including wine, fine dining, and other business news. I had the pleasure of visiting Bingham Family Vineyards and Bingham Family Farms near Meadow earlier this week. The family and staff shared the area’s rich 123-year history, transitioning from cotton to peanuts to wine production. Recently, they launched a new wine in memory of Blake Eddie Bingham, with proceeds going towards the Blake Eddie Scholarship for viticulture and enology students at Texas Tech University and Texas A&M. It’s truly heartwarming to see the impact that Blake’s legacy continues to have on the community.
In addition to this, we have an upcoming article that will explore the profound connection between the Bingham family and the land, as well as their significant contributions to the Texas wine industry. On another note, Chez Sami / Il Dolce Far Niente has announced the closure of their Wolfforth location, with the final meal scheduled for June 15th. This decision comes after the successful opening of their Lubbock location last November, indicating that they are focusing on strengthening their presence in that area.
Exciting news from The Rollin’ Cones, an ice cream truck turned storefront, as they prepare to launch a new drive-thru location in August or September at the former site of Tom & Bingo’s BBQ. Additionally, Twisted Root is offering a special deal on Tuesday for National Hamburger Day with $7 Classic Burgers on the menu. We look forward to updates from potential new businesses in the upcoming week. Thank you for your continued support and readership of the A-J!
